West Mill Basic Photography Workshop
In Southern France with George Munday
May 2-9, 2009
What: The West Mill: “French Countryside Basic Photography Workshop” offers eight days of adventure with other photographers. The itinerary includes visits to local markets, the famous Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard, charming medieval villages, fishing ports and historic cities; some portraiture and still life. Group leader, George Munday, will work with each participant on a personal level during the workshop, helping you to “see” potential photographs and produce photo’s to match your expectations. There will also be an introduction to Photoshop on the in-house computer and how it is used to enhance and correct digital images. And there will still be ample time to chill out and enjoy the local food and wine.
Where: Workshop participants stay at The West Mill, an 18th century water mill with private swimming pool and hot tub, set in a peaceful area with over 11 acres of private land, bordering the Gardon River, at the foot of the Cevennes Mountains. The Mill is located 2 km from St. Jean du Gard, a traditional French village with a weekly market (that we’ll also photograph) and has been owned and operated for over 10 years by Kirsten Apple, a resident of Falls Church in Virginia, USA. Your local hosts Victor and Johanne, a retired couple from England, have been adored by all the past workshop participants for their knowledge and humour; they also live near the West Mill and prepare your breakfast and lunch daily
